Tractor pulls 201512/26/2023 ![]() ![]() The award of a plaque will be made to the NYTPA pulling family (crewperson or family member) who upholds the values of sanctioned pulling with NYTPA and goes the extra mile to make a difference for others through encouragement, assistance and an all around good attitude. The award will be made annually at the NYTPA Fall Banquet. The LaMarche Family established the Dave LaMarche Sportsmanship Award in 2011. The NTPA will be back at it for night number two at the final day of the 100th Anniversary of the Ionia Free Fair, with pulls beginning at 7 p.m. Trowbridge ended his run with some quick brakes so he wouldn’t run into the wall and damage not only his tractor but the spectators as well.Īs dusk hit, just one class remained, with two semi-trucks ready to pull.īoth out of Minnesota, it was the second pull of 344-feet by Pat Ellen driving Just Passin Thru in Class out of Hampton, Minnesota that beat out Dean Holicky driving Mother Trucker from Montgomery, Minnesota. He had a great line but as he started getting a little further down the line, was nearing the wall that separates him and the crowd. His partner, Disturbed, driven by Robert Trowbridge, also out of South Haven, didn’t have a great pull either. Luckily, Broughton got out of his tractor quickly as the flames were extinguished. ![]() His tractor burst into flames in the middle of his pull. ![]() The six driver was Sid Broughton out of South Haven, Michigan and driving Desperado started off great for the first 50-yards or so. His partner, GALOT (Get A Load Of This) pulled first and just over 314-feet, out of Hamilton, Ohio. It was the second tractor that ended up winning it all.Ī John Strickland driven GALOT II (Get A Load Of That) won the pull with 344-feet and some change out of Clinton, North Carolina. It featured just six tractors from Ohio, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Michigan. In the third class, the Super Stock Open brought an incredible pull and a fire on a tractor. A few tractors in this class broke down, some with engine failures, one with a busted wheel and another with a broken crank.
